The original Morris House library offers history combined with elegance with its working fireplace and cozy setting. It is perfect for corporate or medical meetings and dinners, family special occasions, baby and bridal showers, and intimate wedding rehearsal dinners. Reserving this room allows you to also have access to the outdoor patio area for pre-dinner cocktails in the summer or take advantage of a roaring fireplace in the winter.
History of the Library
It is a very lovely room all year round that has such amazing history associated with it. Many prominent people have passed through this room since the 1700’s including politicians, spies, saboteurs, and medical geniuses. See our brief history section for more information.
Private Dining in the Library
This room can seat 6-20 people and as can be seen to the right, is a wonderful private setting for any special event. Please note, advance bookings are required for The Morris House Library.
Wow! We had our wedding rehearsal dinner in the private dining area of the M Restaurant and it was exceptional. The fire burning, friends, good food, and excellent service, completely destressed me before the big day!” – Lawrence A., Center City, Philadelphia
